Insulation Resistance Testing

Contrary to popular belief, IRT results are not a simple matter of acheieving a minimum reading. The same cable can provide numerous different results based on the voltage used, duration of the test, temperature, and humidity. In order to provide the most accurate results, the dielectric absorbtion method with temperature corrected values should be used.

VLF Testing MV cables

The days of HiPot testing MV cables are over. VLF testing uses a very low frequency AC, voltage to provide a pass or fail test of the MV cable in a non-destructive manner.

Earth Ground Resistance Testing

The most accurate method of Earth Ground Resistance testing is using the three point fall of potential method with graphed results taken between 10% and 80%. Proper placement of the testing probes is critical in getting accurate results.

VOC Testing

VOC Testing is critial on a job in order to verify correct polarity, the correct number of moduels in each string, and that all terminations are firmly connected. This test should always be performed prior to curve tracing.

Curve Tracing

Curve Tracing is what allows the owner to see in detail how well the modules are performing. Proper setup of the program prior to testing is critical to getting accurate results. Accurate results test after test are the only way to assess pannel degredation over time. Analysis of a curve can reveal almost any problem found within a string or module.

Operational Current Testing

Operational Current Testing can be performed on a string by string or combiner by combiner basis. While the information gained is not as detailed as curve tracing, it is much faster and can be performed without shutdowns. It is a quick method of identifying underperforming strings for further investigation.

Ground Based Thermal Imaging

Thermal Imaging is an excellent method of identifying high resistance connections such as loose wires, improper crimps and dirty connectors.

Aerial Thermal Imaging

Aerial Thermal Imaging is a cost effective method of  identifying problem areas in your asset. It can highlight shaded modules, excessive soiling, damaged modules  and strings or combiners that are out. This is an extremely cost effective way of getting a general overview of the health of your sytem.

DAS Startup & Troubleshooting

Our extensive experience in installing and starting up DAS systems allows us to help assist in any nessecary troubleshooting and get the data flowing from the sytem to your monitoring company.

Equipment Commissioning

We can perform all the required commissioning tests and inspections using your startup checklist or ours.

Fiber Testing

This provides the total db loss in a fiber and identifies broken fiber and bad terminations.

CAT 5, 6, 7 Testing

Provides wire mapping length and performance of ethernet cables.
